international Fabinho when the summer transfer window opens in July.
The 24-year-old will join the
Premier League side in a deal worth €45 million from French League side Monaco
on July 1st. According to information on the club’s official website, the
Brazilian has already completed medicals and will finalise his long term deal
with the Anfield side in a couple of days.
Fabinho is a defender but can also
be fielded in the defensive midfield role, and he was superb for the Ligue 1
side during his three-year reign at the club.
Reacting to his new move to the
English topflight, Fabinho said he was delighted to join the club, saying
Liverpool are one of the giant clubs in the EPL. He added that he didn’t have to think twice
when he heard about their interest in him, and vows to make his impact felt
during his stay at Anfield.
“I am really excited about this
move," Fabinho told Liverpool website.
“This is something that I always
wanted – this is a giant of a team. The infrastructures of the club look
exceptional. “A football club of this size coming after my services, I didn’t
have to think that much about coming over.
“I will try to create my own history
at this football club. Hopefully, on a personal level, I’m able to win titles
with this club. “I will try to grow and learn and improve myself, and to be
part of the club’s history.”
